The artist's tool - eyes
When consulting with my optician she of course asked what I do for a living. Being an artist means my eyesight is actually one of my most important tools.
Going through the options I plumped for the highest range lense in the Boots range (the Zeiss lens weren't in my budget).
And as a bonus, my mid-range vision should improve! That's eye to palette distance or eye to canvas distance. I'm really looking forward to that! I know my middle distance has been suffering for a few years now - getting tired eyes looking at exhibitions and galleries was never common. But it took until it was getting hard to read to break down and admit something had to be done.
So I embrace getting older.
But if my paintings suddenly look weird you'll know why!
